Steel Yard Ramps

Steel yard ramps are perfect for loading and unloading cargo off of trucks, trailers, railcars, or docks! The steel construction allows for weight capacities that range from 16,000lbs to 60,000lbs! Our yard ramps have a wide variety of capacities and sizes to choose from with widths of up to 84 inches and lengths of up 36 feet! Featured on each yard ramp is a dual action pneumatic pump which is conveniently stored internally for safety and protection. The pneumatic pump has two double acting hydraulic cylinders which allow for fast, smooth raising and lowering of the yard ramp. Just push the lever forward or back to raise the front and open the release valve to safely lower the ramp into position! Also featured on each yard ramp is a set of 18 inch solid rubber tires. These tires have a standard profile yet never need to be inflated! Now you wont have to worry about running over debris and blowing out a tire while out on the loading grounds! ( Standard pneumatic tires are available upon request ) Standard 30 and 36 foot length yard ramps are available without tires for stationary use. The undercarriage of the yard ramp is a tubular steel box assembly for maximum durability and capacity. The surface of the consists of a reinforced 60" diamond plate approach apron for a smooth transition from ground to ramp and the rest of the ramp consist of a serrated grating which allows for snow, dirt, and debris to fall through for self cleaning! ( Note: The grated surface of the yard ramp is not designed for forklift turning maneuvers. ) Heavy duty formed steel side girders provide the massive weight capacities and also allow for a 8 inch tall side rail on each side to prevent forklifts from driving over the edges. For safety, the yard ramps include a safety chain which holds the ramp secure to the loading surface. This chain can be attached to a semi-truck trailers ICC bumper to prevent the ramp from kicking out.

Optional accessories are available for even more versatility! A tow bar is available that can be attached to the front of the ramp and used for towing into place with a fork truck! If your not interested in the tow bar there is another method for moving your yard ramp. The Ramp Clamp is an optional device that allows for the forklift operator to maneuver the ramp with the use of the fork lift tines. The fork lift tine slides into a swiveling lift loop which is secured by a locking device. The fork lift operator can now push the yard ramp into position!

**Please Note: Make sure that the truck and trailer you are going to use your yard ramp on is stopped and the wheels are chocked before attaching the ramp.**

What type of yard ramps will I need?
When choosing what type of yard ramp you will need you must know the combined weight of your heaviest forklift and the heaviest weight of any load it will carry. This will determine what weight capacity you will need. You will also want to know the width of the widest equipment that will be used on the ramp; the ramp should be 15 inches wider then the width of that equipment. If you plan on using the yard ramp for railcar use make sure that the ramp is wide enough to prevent the forklift from hitting the ramp curbs when it turns into the railcar. Also measure the railcar door openings to make sure the yard ramp will fit.

There are two lengths available, 30' long straight ramps witch are typically used for ground to dock loading and unloading, and a 36' long level off ramps which have a 30' ramp with a 6' level off. The level off design adds greater maneuverability for forklifts in any loading and unloading situation. The level off can allow for better pallet handling next to the door opening of a trailer or a railcar. Choose a level off design yard ramp when end-loading is common.
